“If it makes people feel good we play it!” is how local entertainment band All-In describes their rocking style of music. With a sound that can be tailor fitted to any celebration or event, All-In puts a unique spin on classic songs from nearly every genre. All-In’s talented group of musicians have the rare ability to flow effortlessly from classic rock and alternative genres to dance classics, country and blues hits during their memorizing live shows. This remarkable versatility encourages different sets of people to get lost in the music and allows All-In to transcend genre.

With the ability to captivate any audience, All-In plays small and large venues and events all over Southern California, including rocking the Budweiser stage every year at the Southern California Fair. We recently caught up with All-In’s Jason Negron, (Lead Vocalist and Rhythm Guitarist) to learn more about this rocking entertainment band and to find out what makes All-In the ideal band for any event.

Q: Your band’s name is All-In. How did you come up with that name?

Jason Negron: I served as a Squad Leader in Desert Storm back in ’91, and my unit used to always play cards in the field. We adopted the saying "ALL IN" before we "locked and loaded" and went into battle. We would ask each other and confirm that we are ALL IN. So I decided to use that saying for our band to show a musical lifestyle of being ALL IN.

Q: What year did All-In get together?

Negron: I started the band back around 2009. I've had a couple players that have since left and came back.

Q: Who are your current band members, and what instruments do they play?

Negron: Kevin Darish sings and plays bass, Eric Brisse is our drummer and does backup vocals, and Frank Schulz is our lead guitar. We also use Vic Salcido to fill in on drums.

Q: Can you tell us a brief history of All-In?

Negron: We've been playing all kinds of venues from bars, to casinos, to special events like weddings, picnics in the park, retirement and birthday parties. We play all over LA, Orange County and the Inland Empire.

Q: Who are some of your musical influences?

Negron: We are a rock/dance band. We can pretty much play any style of music, we can play blues, classic rock, alternative, country and Latin music.

Q: How would you describe All-In’s diverse sound?

Negron: We pride ourselves on being able to play any style of music, and we try to choose songs that not every cover band will play. We don't just play the “Brown Eyed Girl,” “Sweet Home Alabama” type songs. We try to set ourselves apart from the average cover band.

Q: How has this diversity allowed All-In to reach a larger audience?

Negron: People find our music refreshing because they usually think, "Oh my, another cover band doing the same old songs.” Well, we can guarantee that you will hear something different each time we play.

Q: What is your favorite venue to play in the IE?

Negron: We love all the venues. We love the dive bars like Mavericks, Boondocks, Lake Alice, J Carters and JT Beach Club. But we also love casinos like Pala and Pechanga. We love playing picnic in the park or personal events like retirement parties. It gives us a break from the night scene to get out and see families and kids dancing to our music. Variety is what we strive for.

Q: What are a few of the best and worst things about playing live shows?

Negron: The best thing is to see people dancing and singing along word for word. If you can get people to just escape from their daily troubles and get "lost" in the music, that's our goal. The biggest pet peeve are those that don't want to join the party!
