Many political, social and spiritual groups would encourage being altruistic and giving back to your community year-round. However, something is in the air during the holiday season that really brings out the spirit of giving in all of us. For 12 days throughout December, we want to inspire you to give back to those who are in need in our local neighborhoods. Our "12 Days of Giving" feature will share the impact and needs of twelve different Inland Empire charities.  Our hope is that each feature will inform you and encourage you to donate, volunteer or give back in some way. Please consider giving the gift of kindness to a stranger this season, because it may be the only one they receive.

Over 3,000 children are trafficked throughout the world each and every day. According to UNICEF, over one million children are trafficked worldwide each year. Million Kids is a non-profit organization that collaborates with local law enforcement, individuals, businesses and organizations that are passionate about ending human trafficking. Million Kids is part of the Riverside County Anti-Human Trafficking Task Force (RCAHT) and actively assist communities in creating anti-trafficking programs.

Per Million Kids they “provide educational, medical and legal aid to survivors of trafficking and exploitation; offer prevention programs that help children, youth and adults to stay free and to recognize how traffickers work; and equip activists and provide strategic support to assist law enforcement.” If you want to truly make a difference, here’s where you can start. Donate to Million Kids, and educate yourself about human trafficking as a real issue that is prevalent within the Inland Empire. You can also become involved to help make a difference by organizing a fundraiser. There are more than a million kids that need our help, so let’s start by making a difference with our local chapter.

Remember that sharing is caring, and if you can’t personally give back, share it with someone who can! #ieshineon #12daysofgiving
