News | Fire & Ice: First Annual Chili Cook-Off & Craft Beer Festival

Sat, Jan. 31, 2015

Fire & Ice: First Annual Chili Cook-Off & Craft Beer Festival at Corona-Norco Family YMCA in Corona from 12p.m. to 5p.m on Saturday, January 31, 2015. Admission is $12 per person, $30 for family of four, kids five and under are admitted free. VIP tables are available, and beer tastings are sold separately. This is a private event and tickets must be purchased in advance. Proceeds will be split between two charities, Corona-Norco YMCA and Circle City Rotary.

The savory and spicy, diverse and complex flavors that are found in chili make it the perfect dish to call out for a competition. Twenty-five contestants are competing to be awarded with handsome prizes for having the best chili for each of two categories—Texas-Style and Mexican-Style. Twenty-five must be a lucky number, because there are also 25 craft breweries teaming up to simultaneously engage your palate with a plunging scale of taste. From IPAs to malty brews, the beer aficionado will certainly be satisfied by the brew selection at this festival. Although we can’t relate, those who aren’t beer drinkers still have the option of enjoying margaritas, wine and non-alcoholic beverages. Three separate 50/50 raffles, a kids play area, live music and more make Fire & Ice Corona the only place to be on the last day of January. Bring the kids, and have a killer time.
