Cowboy Burgers & BBQ Paint Night

By Sid Robinson

Cowboy Burgers and BBQ in Rancho Cucamonga will host a Paint Night event for artists and artists-in-spirit to release their inner Picassos and support a worthwhile cause from 4-7 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 13.

Instructor Lee Edwards will teach a version of Van Gogh's “Starry Night” and a basic house on a hill scene. Non-toxic washable acrylic paint in primary colors, 16”x20” canvases, brushes and smocks will be provided.

The Paint Night series will support Project Boon, a Rancho Cucamonga-based health and wellness organization that organizes events to help raise funds to assist underserved communities and those in need, while also empowering various sectors of the community to make a positive difference in the lives of others.

The event also provides the Inland Empire community with an opportunity to network, give back and have fun – all while creating works of art. At the end of the night, participants take home their own masterpieces. Dinner is also available, and beer and wine also will be available to purchase.

Currently based in Duarte, Edwards began his painting career as an adolescent in Dalton, Ga. He went on to attend the University of Wisconsin-Madison and the Dayton Art Institute in Ohio before moving west to study cinema at the University of Southern California. After years working in the film industry, he returned to the world of visual art, specializing in contemporary California impressionism.

Edwards has exhibited his work at the Oil Painters of America’s national and regional exhibitions and California Art Club shows, and at the Long Beach Museum of Art and the Huntington Museum, among others.

Paint Night is $15 for dinner only, $22 for painting only and $35 for both dinner and painting. Seating for the Aug. 13 Paint Night is on a first-come, first-served basis.
