In honor of Slavery and Human Trafficking Prevention Month, Slavery By Another Name will be screened at the Center for Social Justice and Civil Liberties.  As part of The Liebert Cassidy Whitmore Film Series, this powerful documentary breaks down the misinformed idea that slavery ended with Abraham Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation of 1863.

This film dives headfirst into stories about the lives of thousands of African Americans in the American South following the Civil War through stories of the past, as well as interviews with living descendants of victims and perpetrators. Don’t miss the screening; don’t turn your back on the truth behind these stories of America’s hateful history.

Artswalk Film Screening at Center for Social Justice and Civil Liberties in Riverside at 6p.m. and 7:45p.m. Admission is free, but seating is limited.
