Hey there friends!

My shop is bursting with dresses – lots and lots of dresses. Why? Because the temps here in SoCal have already started to hit 100-plus degrees.

I don't know about you, but wearing jeans or anything that isn’t lightweight when it's that hot is just asking for misery. I find that I pull out my dresses when the temperatures rise.

My favorite new arrival is just what my summer wardrobe was asking for – comfy, knit, maxi dresses! (Pockets, included! #yourewelcome)

The exciting thing about a simple staple summer piece like these maxi dresses is that you can layer them for some amazing looks. Summer weddings, girls’ night out, date night or just lounging poolside.

Wherever you plan to be this summer, dresses can make it easy to tolerate the heat without losing your style. Try a kimono or even a button-up worn over this dress.

Vacation bound or looking to spice up your summer dress varieties? Try a tie-dye midi length or printed hi-lo dress.

An added bonus – Dresses are super easy to throw on and get out the door quickly. Just pop the right accessory or scarf and you are good to go. My favorite with dresses (if you couldn’t tell already) is long pendant necklaces.

Long pendant necklaces help to elongate the frame. What does that mean in layman's terms? It makes you look taller, and who doesn't love that? Many of my clients are petite or average height like me. So I will take an opportunity to appear taller than my barely 5’5” frame.

And back to that knit maxi dress again. Not only did I look taller, but I also felt like I was instantly on vacation. It was great to feel soft lightweight knit on the skin while we did our photo shoot in 90-plus degree weather.

I would love to hear what go-to items you use when the weather heats up. Comment below. Maybe I will start shopping for the store with your suggestions in mind (wink, wink).

Wishing you a very stylish week!

XO!

Shannon
