When it becomes impossible to enter a retail store without hearing at least two versions of “Jingle Bells,” you know the yuletide season is upon us. MONDAY

12/8, Holiday Fundraiser – Soroptimist International of Big Bear Valley presents their 32nd Annual Holiday Dinner & Auction at Northwoods Resort in Big Bear at 5:30p.m. Price is $45 per person. This fantastic seasonal dinner comes around just in time to kickstart your holiday celebrations. Enjoy a fine evening, and all the proceeds go to the local community . . . what could be better than that?

 

TUESDAY

12/9, Santa Visits the Library – Santa Makes a Visit at the Riverside Public Library at 4p.m. Why head to the mall to see Saint Nick when you can share your Christmas list with him at your neighborhodd library? Don’t miss your chance to catch Mr. Claus before he heads back to the North Pole. 

 

WEDNESDAY

12/10, Children’s Museum – Chino Youth Museum in Chino from 10a.m. to 4p.m. Admission for children 1-12 is $3, and admission for ages 13 and up is $2. Through various interactive and educational exhibits on subjects like theatre, science, water and more. Your children will be engaged, and you’ll be proud of getting them a little local culture in their memory banks. 

 

THURSDAY

12/11, Dinner TheaterIt’s Christmas Every Day at The Candlelight Pavilion in Claremont . Our hearts are warmed by the mere thought of spending a crisp winter evening within the warm and inviting walls of The Candlelight Pavilion. An always delicious meal is topped by the talented cast of this holiday classic. Don’t miss your photo-op when Mr. & Mrs. Claus stick around after the show. 

12/11, Winter Dance Performance – Moonridge School of Dance presents Winter Showcase at the Big Bear Lake Performing Arts Center at 7:30p.m. Admission ranges from $4-$9. Many talented students of this school of dance are excited to show off the talents they’ve perfected for this great season performance. 

 

FRIDAY

12/12, Ice Skating – Ice Skating Public Sessions at Ontario Ice Skating Center in Ontario from 11a.m. to 4:45p.m., or between 8p.m. and 10p.m. for skating with disco lights. Admission and skate rental is $9.50, while admission only is $8. Once you strap those ice skates on your feet, the inner child in you will be squealing with joy . . . even if your adult-self is utterly terrified. Don’t worry, you’ll be a natural! 

12/12, Classic Christmas PlayIt’s a Wonderful Life at Lifehouse Theater in Redlands at 7:30p.m. Prices range from $14 to $18. We’ve all been moved by the holiday season along with this classic story of George Bailey’s enlightening encounter with an angel. Tis the season to get into the true spirit of Christmas with this classic tale.
