Joining the program this year will be Billy Dee Williams, also known as Lando Calrissian in the “Star Wars” movies “The Empire Strikes Back” and “The Return of the Jedi.”

On Sunday May 29th a limited number of people will be able to join Calrissian at the Lewis Family Playhouse for “A Conversation with Billy Dee Williams.” After, he will read to the crowd outside the theatre where a furry friend will be joining him to hear the story of “Where the Wild Things Are.”

Earning the Lifetime Achievement Award in 2006 from his contributions to the arts, Williams is also an accomplished painter with work displayed in the Smithsonian. It will be an honor for the city of Rancho Cucamonga to partner with him to share the love of reading with the community.

On May 4th there will be more details about tickets to see Billy Dee Williams as well as a calendar of events for the weekend.

The Star Wars Reads literacy program will be held at the Rancho Cucamonga Library at Victoria Gardens, 12505 Cultural Center Dr., Rancho Cucamonga, CA 91739 on May 28th and 29th from 1p.m. until 4p.m. Free event. All ages welcome. For more information call (909) 937-3058 or visit this website.
