Tour de Foothills Bike Ride [dedicated]

Tour de Foothills Bicycle Classic Hits The Streets Nov. 12

The 12th annual Tour de Foothills will set off from downtown Upland through Southern California’s picturesque foothill communities on Saturday, Nov. 12, for the region’s largest bicycle ride.

Separate routes covering 31, 62 and 100 miles, as well as a family run ride, will all take off and finish on A Street in downtown Upland. The event is expected to last throughout the day, beginning at 6 a.m.

Presented by the Upland Chamber of Commerce in partnership with Casa Colina Hospital and Center for Healthcare, The Tour de Foothills is one of the best-supported rides in Southern California. The event benefits a number of local non-profit community organizations.

All of the Tour de Foothills courses feature clearly marked routes, well-stocked rest stops and additional support.

The longest and most challenging of the Tour de Foothills rides is the Full Century. Designed for the serious cyclist, the 2016 route includes more than 100 miles of cycling and more than 5,000 feet of climbing. There are five well-stocked rest stops along the way.

The metric century is the original length of the Tour de Foothills. Intended for the avid cyclist, the 2016 TDF metric century covers 62 miles, with more than 3,000 feet of climbing. Four rest stops are located along the route.

The 2016 TDF half-metric century is a 34-mile route that travels along beautiful Euclid Boulevard with three great rest stops and 1,200 feet of climbing.

The family fun ride offers families the opportunity to participate in the Tour de Foothills without the distance and climbing challenges of the half-metric, metric century and full century rides for seasoned riders. The variable length route reaches as far as 12 miles and is designed for riders of all levels.

Among the other highlights of the Tour de Foothills is the post-ride Tour de Brews and vendor village in downtown Upland featuring local craft breweries and wineries, food, music and more, all included the ride registration. The Tour de Brews will be open from noon-6 p.m.
