Nom-worthy: The Pinnacle

10.10.12

This picture is already making my mouth water.  It’s the most amazing duck breast I’ve had in the Inland Empire – hands down!  I still dream about this duck breast.  That’s how much I loved it.  I had the good sense to listen to a restaurant recommendation from a waitress from another restaurant (ha!) and headed to the Falkner Winery.  Sitting atop a hill that overlooks the Temecula valley, Falkner Winery’s The Pinnacle restaurant was voted 2010 Best Restaurant and Best Chef by readers of the Inland Empire Magazine.  It was also voted 2012 Diner’s Choice Winner by OpenTable.com.  And I can totally see why.

The food, ambience, view, fantastic service, and amazing wines (we took home a 2010 Viognier that was too delish to pass up) set the tone for the perfect lunch. Don’t skimp on the freshly baked bread – soft on the inside perfect crust on the outside.  Also the lobster mac and cheese with prosciutto is a regular favorite and cannot be missed.  And if you’re lucky enough you’ll be there on a day where the chef’s special is the duck breast seasoned and seared served over sesame scallion rice with steamed baby bok choy and a fermented black bean sauce.  Cross your fingers!

The Pinnacle is open daily from 11:30-3:30 p.m.  So whether you live in Temecula or making a day trip, make sure The Pinnacle is on your itinerary.

The Pinnacle (Falkner Winery) 40620 Calle Contento Temecula, CA 92591 | 951-676-8231 (also accepts reservations)
