Boy, it’s going to be hot this weekend – quite a scorcher!  But don’t let the heat beat you and keep you from getting out there and enjoying the weekend.  We’ve got lots of events to enjoy this weekend, so check it out and get your weekend on, Inland Empire!

RIVERSIDE

7/20, California Citrus State Historic Park – Hotsy Totsy showcases a bluegrass concert at 6:30 p.m. Friday at California Citrus State Park’s FREE concert in the park. Dogs are welcome to come and participate in a special dog parade.

7/20, Bogart Friday Film Fest – Come see Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall in “To Have and Have Not” at 7:30 p.m Friday at the Fox Performing Arts Center. The film festival will sport a different Bogie movie each week through August 17, 2012. Tickets start at $9.

 

SAN JACINTO VALLEY

7/21-7/22, Idyllwild Lemon Lily Festival – This third annual event has something for everyone: Food, fun, bluegrass music, and, of course,  lemon lilies! Admission is free.

 

SAN BERNARDINO AND REDLANDS

Thru 8/6, Splash Kingdom – The Redlands waterpark is having $20 Fun & Food Days! Play and eat all day for one low price!

7/20, Redlands Bowl Summer Music Festival – The Redlands Symphony Orchestra conducted by Frank Paul Fetta performs a FREE concert at 8:15 p.m. Friday at the Redlands Bowl. Free will donations accepted.

7/20-8/4, “The Wizard of Oz” – Take a journey with Dorothy and all her friends down the yellow brick road during the Junior University’s rendition of this classic musical. Tickets start at $5.

7/20-8/25, Redlands Theatre Festival - The 40th season of this amazing fest kicks off Friday and features many amazing productions such as “Company,” “Marvelous Wonderettes” and “God of Carnage.” Single performance tickets start at $20; season tickets start at $80.

7/20-8/19, “The Sound of Music” - Come alive at the LifeHouse Theater in Redlands for an amazing rendition of what is known as “The World’s Most Beloved Musical!” The show runs weekends through mid-August. Tickets start at $14 for adults and $7 for children 3-11. Youngsters under 3 are not admitted.

7/21, Journey and Pat Benatar – Go back to the 1980s when these rockers the stage at 7 p.m. Saturday at the San Manuel Amphitheater. Tickets start at $33.

 

CUCAMONGA VALLEY

7/20-7/24, Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus presents “Dragons” – Bring the kids to the world-renowned circus this weekend at Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario. Evening and matinee performances available. Tickets start at $20.

7/20-7/21, Free Summer Concerts – Every Friday & Saturday from 5-8 p.m. head to Victoria Gardens for free summer concerts.

7/20-7/22, “The Wizard of Oz” – Relive one of the most beloved children’s stories during this week’s performances at the Lewis Family Playhouse in Rancho Cucamonga. Tickets are $18.

7/21, Rockin’ at Dos Lagos Concert Series – U2 tribute band LA Vation takes the stage at 7 p.m. Saturday. The performance is FREE and held in the parking lot by TGI Fridays.

7/21-7/29, “Hats! The Musical – This hilarious comedy runs for two weekends at Tibbies Center Stage in Fontana. Tickets start at $18.

 

POMONA VALLEY

7/20, FREE Journey tribute concert – The Shoppes at Chino Hills presents Lights, a tribute to legendary rockers Journey, from 6-8 p.m. Friday as part of its “Rockin’ Memories” Classic Hits Summer Concert Series.

7/20, 2nd Story Gallery July Show – Each month the 2nd Story Gallery features the works of local artists for the community to enjoy as well as purchase. Admission and parking are free. The 2nd Story Gallery will be showing three artists July 20-21 from 5:30-8:30 p.m. The San Dimas Historical Society Museum is also open and offers a unique look at our local history with wonderful displays and photographs. The 2nd Story Gallery is located in the Walker House located at 121 N. San Dimas Avenue.

 

BIG BEAR & LAKE ARROWHEAD

7/20-7/28, Big Bear Old Miners Days – Head to Big Bear this weekend and next for parades, festivals, contests and more!  On Saturday, there will be a Bluegrass & Country Music Festival and Big Bear Heritage Parade, starts at 3:30 p.m..

 

TEMECULA & MURRIETA

7/20, Kellie Pickler at Pechanga –  This “American Idol” alum heats up the stage at 8 p.m. Friday at the Pechanga Resort & Casino in Temecula. Available tickets start at $50.

7/20, Hot Summer Nights – This Summer-long event happens every Friday in Old Towne Temecula.  Here’s the line up for this weekend’s “Party in the Park:” Jolly Jump in Town Square Park, guest band at Sweet Lumpy’s, The Filthy Beggers next to Rosa’s, Abrakadabra at Tesoro, Nitro Express at Baily’s and Dynamite Dave (balloon art) at Front & Main.  All activities are free from 6-10 p.m..

7/20, Temecula Children’s Museum – Bring the kids to Pennypickle’s Workshop at the Temecula Children’s Museum and learn about Aerospace Engineering!

7/21, Murrieta Summer Concerts – Come out to Town Square Park (behind City Hall 24601 Jefferson Ave.) and enjoy a free summer concert :)
