Inland Empire Food & Drink | Healthy Eating Guide

If you're looking for a healthy meal in the Inland Empire, sure it’s easy to choose from the salad side of any restaurant menu but that tends to get boring, especially if you enjoy trying new things. Then there’s the dreaded feeling so many feel of us feel when selecting a healthy choice while everyone around us is eating french fries.

Personally, I think it's much easier and enjoyable to go to a restaurant that actually focuses on healthy ingredients.  With so many dining options in the Inland Empire, sometimes it’s hard to quickly find the healthiest choices. Below is a list to help guide you towards the healthiest dining options throughout the Inland Empire.

So what exactly does consider healthy dining?   Restaurants, cafes, and specialty stores that focus on serving heart healthy, vegetarian, vegan, organic, locally sourced, superfood, or paleo focused menu items.

Pacific Fish Grill - If you didn't know, fish is heart healthy and paleo friendly and this local favorite has something for everyone

Boiling Point - Shabu shabu, or Asian hot pot, is basically a hot pot of broth that you fill with meat, vegetables and sometimes noodles. After you've boiled the meat and veggies in the broth you can dip them in some complimentary dipping sauces (soy or peanut based usually). This Asian dish is low in fat and as healthy as you make it. If you're looking for a different type of dining option then definitely check out this place.

Podges Claremont Juice Co. - The best smoothies and sandwiches in town. Customers enjoy quality meats and vegetables along with fresh, natural ingredients.

Bowl of Heaven – I know most people don't consider La Verne part of the Inland Empire but it's so close by and Bowl of Heaven is so yummy I had to include them in this list. Bowl of Heaven serves what looks like soft serve yogurt but it's not! It's a blend of fresh, frozen and exotic superfoods (i.e. acai, their signature Maq7 Juice and bananas) with good for you toppings like hemp and flax seed, strawberries, blueberries and organic granola. The honey they use is also locally sourced from Cal Poly Pomona. It might sound too healthy to be good but if you try it once you'll know why so many folks are addicted. Oh, and they also serve organic cold pressed juices. "North Shore" bowl packed w/ yumminess from Bowl of Heaven[/caption]
