Memorial Day is the time to honor those who have served and died in the Armed Forces, and there are celebrations throughouth the Inland Empire to give thanks for their commitment and sacrifice. We've rounded up those events as well as many other Inland Empire weekend events for you to consider for your weeekend plans.

INLAND EMPIRE MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND EVENTS

 

RIVERSIDE MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND EVENTS

5/22-31, weekends, Theater - Christian Arts and Theater presents “Oklahoma” at the Corona Civic Center Theater Fridays at 7 p.m., Saturdays at 2 and 7 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. Tickets are $14, children, students and seniors $12, group prices and family packages available.

5/22-24, Saturation Fest - Saturation Fest 2015 in various locations in downtown Riverside. Art shows, DIY, concerts and vendors, see website for schedule and locations.

5/22, Music - Speakeasy Fridays featuring DJ Erok at Proabition Fridays at 10 p.m.

5/22, Concert - Heart tribute band Heart to Heart at Romano’s Concert Lounge beginning at 10:30 p.m. Tickets are 10 in advance, $12 at the door for the 21 and over show.

5/22, Craft – Free “Make it and Take it” craft at La Sierra Library from 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
  
5/23-24, Adoptions - Free adoptions from The Mary S. Roberts Pet Adoption Center for active duty, reserve and veterans of the Armed Forces from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. First 50 adoptions free, limit one per household.  

5/23, Bridal Show – The Ysmael Villegas Community Center hosts the Southern California Bridal Show from 10:30 a.m.- 2:30 p.m. Free tote bag to first 100 attendees, fee event. 

5/23, Chili Cook Off and Car Show - Arlington Business Partnership’s Chili Cook-Off and Car/Cycle Show in Arlington Village from 9:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Featuring the International Chili Society’s California State Chili Championships. Vendors, kid’s activities and more.

5/23, Concert - Southbound and Company, tribute band fpr Lynard Skynard at Romano’s Concert Lounge beginning at 9:30 p.m. Tickets are 10 in advance, $12 at the door for the 21 and over show.

5/24, Screening - “A Nightmare on Elm Street” screening from 3-7 p.m. at Mission Tobacco Lounge. Food and drink specials, giveaways and guest appearances. $3 cover for the 21 and over event.

5/25, Motorcycle Ride - West Coast Thunder XVI leaves Riverside Harley Davidson at 9:11 a.m. and proceeds to Riverside National Cemetery. Route continues to Soboba Casino for a tribute concert headed by BIG & RICH. $45 fee, proceeds benefit the cemetery.

5/25, Memorial Day - Memorial Day events at the Riverside National Cemetery. 9 a.m. roll call of veterans interred in the last year. Ceremony beginning at 11 a.m. including speakers and Riverside Concert Band.

 

REDLANDS & YUCAIPA MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND EVENTS

Now through 5/31, Theater - Neil Simon’s “Rumors” at Footlighters Thursday,  Friday and Saturday nights at 8 p.m., Sundays at 2 p.m. Tickets are $15, students $10 admission.

5/23-6/28, Theater - “Zorro” at LifeHouse Theater Fridays at 7:30 p.m., Saturdays at 2:15 p.m. and Sundays at 2:15 p.m. Tickets are $14-18 for adults, $7-9 for ages 3-11.

5/23-24, Art Show - Art in the Park and the Redlands Festival of Arts in Smiley Park beginning from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday. Art for sale, children’s art activities and more. Free admission.

5/23, Tournament - Slice of Hope Golf Tournament at Yucaipa Valley Golf Club benefitting YouthHope. Breakfast and registration begins at 6:30, shotgun start at 8 a.m. Single registration $100, foursome $375. See site for details and registration.

5/23, Walking Tour - The Roots of Redlands walking tour following the Mill Creek Zanja and other historical places from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. $20 registration.  

5/24, Car Show - 19th annual Redlands Firefighters Car Show in downtown Redlands from 6 a.m.-6 p.m. Pancake breakfast, beer and wine tasting. Spectators are free, vehicle registration is $20, $30 day of show.

 

SAN BERNARDINO MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND EVENTS

5/21-23, Motorcross - Round two of the Lucas Oil Pro Motorcross Championship at Glen Helen Raceway. Thursday and Friday amateur competitions begin at 9 a.m., Saturday Nationals competition begin at 6 a.m. Saturday admission is $25 ages 6-11,  $50 adult, weekend admission $40 ages 6-11 and $70 adult, 5 and under free. 5/23, Concert - Triumphant Season Finale Concert at the California Theater of Performing Arts at 7 :30 p.m. Tickets are $20-55.

5/24, Dancing - Sunday swing dancing at AMF Arrowhead Lanes. Classes begin at 5:20 with intermediate swing, beginning, basic East Coast, and open dancing from 7-9 p.m. $8 to dance of $12 for class and dance. Repeats every Sunday.

5/24, Music Festival – Insomniac presents Rare with Carnage at the National Orange Show Events Center Sunday at 7 p.m. Tickets are $50 for the 18 and over show.

 

CORONA & NORCO MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND EVENTS

Now through 6/21, weekends, Reniassance Fair - Koroneberg Renaissance Festival at Crossroads Riverview Park from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday. Jousting, games, food and revelry. Tickets are $18 adults, $15 seniors and children 5-11, $12 military.  Open Memorial Day.

5/22-24, Show - Pacific Coast Miniature Horse Club presents the Area 7 Championship Show at the George Ingalls Equestrian Event Center beginning at 8 a.m. each day. See website for registration.

5/22, Concert - Johnny Richter at M15 Concert Bar and Grill. Tickets are $10, doors open at 7 p.m. for the all-ages event.

5/23, Concert - Sage Francis at M15 Concert Bar and Grill at 7 p.m. Presale $18, at the door $22 for the 18 and over show.

5/23, Walk - Memorial March Mile beginning at the Corona Chamber at 8 a.m. and ending at City Hall with guest speaker Mike Ehredt. Free participation, registration encouraged.

 

POMONA MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND EVENTS

5/22-31, RV Show – Giant RV Show Summer Show in the White Ave. Lot at the Fairplex from 9 a.m.-7 p.m. daily. Free admission, parking at Gate 9 with prevailing rates.

5/22, Concert - The Dear Hunter at The Glass House beginning at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $20.


5/23, Concert  - As You Were with Dose of Adolescence, Cromwell and more at The Glass House beginning at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $12-15.

5/24, Concert - The Rezillos with Kid Congo Powers & The Pink Monkey Birds at The Glass House beginning at 8 p.m. Tickets are $22-25.

 

CLAREMONT MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND EVENTS

Now through 10/30, Fridays, Festival - Friday Nights Live in Claremont Village from 6-9 p.m. Live music, open to the public. 

5/22-23, Comedy - Tim Lee at Flapper’s Comedy Club Friday at 8 and 10 p.m. and Saturday at 7 and  9 p.m. Tickets are $20.

5/23, Workshop - Workshop on the basics of salad dressings and vinaigrettes at Vom Fass of Claremont beginning at 9 a.m. $25 fee includes recipes and taking home in-class vinaigrette.

5/23, Workshop - Summer Color with Native Plants workshop at Grow Native Nursery in the Rancho Santa Ana Botanic Garden from 10-11 a.m.

 

RANCHO CUCAMONGA & ONTARIO MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND EVENTS


5/22-24, Comedy -  Tommy Davidson at the Ontario Improv Thursday at 8 p.m., Friday at 7:30 and 9:45 p.m., Saturday at 7 and 9:15 p.m. and Sunday at 7 p.m. Tickets are $25, two item-minimum and dress code applies. 

5/23, Opening - Lush Handmade Cosmetics grand opening from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Free gift to first 100 guests to arrive with RSVP.

5/23, Comedy – Dogship Records early screening at the Ontario Improv beginning at 3 p.m. Tickets are $1 for the 18 and over event.

5/23, Hockey - Onatio Reign vs. Allen Americans beginning at 6 p.m. at the Citizens Business Bank Arena. Tickets are $12-27, parking is $5 cash.

 

RIALTO & FONTANA MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND EVENTS

5/22-24, Racing - NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series at the Auto Club Dragway. Racing begins at 8 a.m. daily, Spectator entry is $20 each day.

5/23, Bimmerfest - Bimmerfest comes to Auto Club Speedway in Fontana. $20 per car to park in the show (including all passengers free) or $10 per person to walk in. Kids 12 and under free.

5/25, Memorial Day - Memorial Day Event at Rialto Park Cemetery from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.

 

BIG BEAR MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND EVENTS

5/23, Car Show - Antique Car Club Show & Shine and Pinewood Derby at Big Bear Snowplay from 7 a.m.-4 p.m. See website for more information, derby is for local 5th graders.

5/23, Bears – Bear Awareness Day at the Big Bear Alpine Zoo from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Zoo admission is adults $12, seniors and children ages 3-9 $9, 2 and under free.

5/24, Run – Big Bear Lake Memorial 5K Fun Run along the national forest, beginning and ending in The Village. Registration begins at 7 a.m., 9:15 color guard ceremony, 9:30 start. Dogs and strollers welcome, adult registration $35, youth $20, military $30.

 

PALM SPRINGS MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND EVENTS

Now through 5/31, Exhibit - Ai Weiwei’s “Circle of Animals/ Zodiak Heads: Gold” at the Palm Springs Art Museum. Admission is Free to members and under 12 years olx, general is $12.50 adults, $5 for students, free for active military and families.

Now through 5/25, Theater - “La Cage Aux Folles” at the Palm Canyon Theater Thursday at 7 p.m., Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. Tickets are $36 general admission, $2 seniors.

5/22-24, Performance - “For the Love of Broadway” featuring Carole Cook at The Purple Room Friday and Saturday night at 7 p.m., Sunday at 1 p.m. Tickets are $30,  dinner or brunch available beforehand.

5/22-23, Dance - CK Dance Company presents “The Sleeping Beauty” at the Palm Springs Art Museum Friday at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday at 3 p.m. Ticket prices are $20-30.

5/25, Memorial Day - Memorial Day Air Fair and Flower Drop at the Palm Springs Air Museum beginning at 10 a.m. Plane exhibitions, vendors, beer tent and more, 1 p.m. flower drop to honor veterans who lost their lives. Museum admission is $9-16.

 

TEMECULA & MURIETTA MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND EVENTS

5/24, Racing – Formula 1 viewing party at Doffo Winery beginning at 11 a.m. Free entry, see website for reservations.

5/25, Memorial Day  - Murietta’s Memorial Day Ceremony beginning at 8 a.m. in Town Square Park.
