RIVERSIDE WEEKEND EVENTS

1/15-18, Theater - “Peter Pan” at The Box at the Fox Entertainment Plaza Thursday at 7:30 p.m., Friday at 8 p.m., Saturday at 2:30 p.m. and Sunday at 2:30 and 7:30 .p.m. Tickets are $20.

1/17, Grand Opening – Grand opening of India Sweets & Spices from 12-5 p.m. Celebration includes free buffet of vegetarian food.

1/17, Theater - One-man play featuring the works of Mark Twain at the Fox Performing Arts Center at 6 p.m., Tickets are $28-51.

1/18, Artist Talk - Creative Expression artist coffee klatsch at the Riverside Arts Museum at 2 p.m.

 

REDLANDS & YUCAIPA WEEKEND EVENTS

1/15-2/1, Theater - “I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change” at Footlighters Fridays and Saturday at 8 p.m., Sundays at 2 p.m. Tickets are $15.

1/16-2/1, Theater - “The Wizard of Oz” with the Heartland Players Theater Co.in Yucaipa Fridays and Saturdays at 7 a.m., Sundays at 2 p.m.  Tickets are $10 general admission, children, seniors and students are $8, four-pack for $30.

1/17, City Council - Coffee with the Council from 9-10:30 a.m. at Olive Avenue Market. Mayor Pro Tem Jon Harrison and Council Member Pat Gilbreath will attend.

  1/17, Gardening - Learn to care for and prune roses at Elsie Grant Krimm Memorial Rose Garden in Sylvan Park with the Redlands Horticultural Society. Class will be also planting bare-root roses as part of lesson.

1/17, Gardening - Trail care event with the Redlands Conservancy at San Timoteo Nature Sanctuary beginning at 9 a.m. Help clean trails and identify native plants. Bring garden tools and gloves. 

  1/17, Photography - Basic Camera 2 and Computer 2 classes through Stephen Wormser Photography at 10 a.m. and 12 p.m.  Cost is $30 per person, or $100 to enroll is Basic and Computer 1 and 2 combined. Call (909)793-0890

 

CHINO & SAN BERNARDINO WEEKEND EVENTS

1/15-19, Circus - Circus Vargas presents "ArleQuin" by the I-10 at Waterman Ave Friday at 4 and 7:30 p.m., Satuday and Sunday at 1, 4 and 7:30 p.m. and Monday at 3 p.m. Tickets are $15-70, kids under 2 free. 

 1/16-19, Dinosaurs - Discover the Dinosaurs at the National Orange Show Events Center Friday from 3-9 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m.-8 p.m., Sunday from 10 a.m.-7 p.m., and Monday 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Entrance to exhibit plus theater, rides and inflatables is $16-18 adults, kids 2-12 exhibit only is $16, exhibit, rides and activities $22.Ride tickets purchased separately are $5.

1/17-18, Trains - Train Days at the San Bernardino County Museum. Model trains, exhibits, activities and free popcorn and cotton candy. Museum is open 9 a.m.-5 p.m., admission is adults $10, seniors and military $8, students $7, kids 5-12 $5, under 5 free. 

1/17, Blood Drive - Lifestream blood drive and marrow screening at the Neighborhood Activity Center from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Free Jack in the Box milkshake coupon, cholesterol screening, and redeemable points for donors. Bring photo ID and parental consent if needed.

1/17, Kids Event - Kid’s Night Out at Chino Youth Museum from 6-9 p.m. story-themed activities and games, kids help make their own dinner. Pre-registration is required, call museum or check website for details.

1/17, Fishing - Junior fishing workshop at Prado Regional Park from 7:30 a.m.-1 p.m. for kids ages 7-15. Learn knot tying, casting, cleaning and more before having a fishing session, all tackle provided.$8 registration in advance, $10 parking fee paid at park gate.

 

CORONA WEEKEND EVENTS

1/16, Concert - Powerman 5000 with (HED)pe at M15 Concert Bar and Grill beginning at 7 p.m. Tickets are $20 to the 21 and over event.

1/16, Comedy – Comedy showcase at Rockefellas featuring Roberto Rodriguez, Corey LeRoy and  more. Event begins at 8 p.m., bar specials featuring $8 pitchers and $2 tall can.

1/17, Concert -Lita Ford at M15 Concert Bar and Grill beginning at 7 p.m. Tickets are $22 to the all-ages concert.

 

CLAREMONT & POMONA WEEKEND EVENTS


1/16, Concert - Geographer with Haunted Summer and Smoke Season at The Glass House beginning at  7 p.m. Tickets are $15 to the all-ages event.

  1/17-18, Expo - Asian-American Expo at the Fairplex Saturday from 10 a.m.- 12 a.m., Sunday 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Vendors, exhibitors, and Saturday night  Lunar-Palooza music festival, . Tickets are $10 general, $7 children and seniors, music festival $5. Expo is in Halls 4-8, parking is $10 at gate 9.

1/17, Concert - MacArthur record pre-release show at Acerogami beginning at 7:30 p.m. Free admission to the 21 and over event.

1/17, Concert - DJ Nu-Mark at the Flyaway at Fox at 9:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 to the 21 and over event.

1/17, Concert - Lukas Nelson and Shooter Jennings in concert in support of the Claremont Community Foundation. Concert starts at 8 p.m. at Pomona College’s Bridges Auditorium, Tickets are $33-108, purchase online.

1/18, Nature Walk - Learn the tradition and modern uses of about 30 native plants at the Rancho Santa Ana Botanic Garden from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Fee is $20 for garden members, $25 for the public. Guided walk limited to 20 participants, bring water and sack lunch.

1/18, Car Show and Swap Meet - The Pomona Swap Met and Classic Car Show from 5 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Fairplex. Cars, parts and accessories for sale. General admission is $10, kids 12 and under free. Parking is $10 at Gate 17.

 

RANCHO CUCAMONGA, ONTARIO & FONTANA WEEKEND EVENTS

1/16-18, Racing - California Car Club US Major Tour event at the Auto Club Speedway. Registration online, free admission all weekend for spectators.

1/16-18, Comedy - DL Hughley at the Ontario Improv Friday at 7:30 and 9:45 p.m., Saturday at 7 and 9:15 p.m. and Sunday at 7 p.m. Tickets are $30, two-item minimum, dress code enforced.

1/17, Exotics Racing - Ride-along or drive in your choice of exotic car from $99. Registration online, see website for details.

1/17, Soccer - Ontario Fury vs. Turlock Express at Citizens Business Bank Arena beginning at  7 p.m. Tickets are $10-40, parking is $5 cash.  Fundraiser night -purchase tickets through the Rancho Cucamonga Animal Care and Adoption Center to raise money for the organization.

1/17, Movie - Sing-a-long with the movie “The Sound of Music” at the Lewis Family Playhouse beginning at 7 p.m. Tickets are $14.50-16.50. Costumes encouraged.

1/17-19, Snow Sports - Burton Mountain Festival at Bear Mountain Resort. Free gear try outs, lessons, entertainment and more. See website for details.

1/17, Nature - Free event celebrating the Bald Eagle at the Big Bear Discovery Center from 11 a.m.-12 p.m. .Learn about the biology and conservation status of the national bird.

PALM SPRINGS WEEKEND EVENTS

1/15, Dance - Dance for Life Palm Springs at the Palm Springs Art Museum’s Annenberg Theater. Champagne reception at 6 p.m., performance begins at 7 p.m. Tickets are $95.

1/16-17, Wellness - City of Palm Springs Mayor’s Race and Wellness Festival Race. Friday night spaghetti dinner at Nicolini’s at 8 p.m. Running events and Festival at Ruth Hardy Park, free swim clinic and timed events at Palm Springs Swim Center. Races start at 7:30 Saturday registration opens at 6:30. $45 for the 5K or $50 for the 10 mile course, kids 1K fun run at 9:30 a.m. see website for details.

1/17-18, Art Festival -  Desert Arts Festival at Frances Stevens Park from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Free admission and parking.   

1/17, Concert - Golden Boys featuring Frankie Avalon, Fabian and Bobby Rydell at Agua Caliente Casino at 8 p.m. Tickets are $50-70.

 

MORENO VALLEY, PERRIS & NORCO WEEKEND EVENTS

1/15-18, Trains - a behind the scenes look at the Orange Empire Railway Museum including visits to a restoration area, viewing under a streetcar and a chance to run a locomotive. Admission is $12, ages 5-11 is $8, under 5 free. Museum is open 9:30-4:30 p.m. weekdays, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. weekends.

1/16, Adoptions - New Year’s adoption event from 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m. at the Moreno Valley Animal Shelter. Dogs and puppies $40, cats and kittens $15. Repeating next two Saturdays.

1/17-18, Steam Engine -Steam engine in operation during museum hours at the Orange Empire Railway Museum. Admission is $12 general, ages 5-11 $8, under 8 free.

1/17, Gymkhana – Norco Rangler’s show and fundraiser at Ingalls Park. Singups begin at 7:45 a.m., show at 9 a.m.

 

TEMECULA WEEKEND EVENTS


1/16, Concert – The Ooks of Hazzard ukulele band at the Old Town Temecula Community Theater at 8 p.m. Tickets are $25.

1/16, MMA – Bellator MMA 132 “Pitbull vs. Straus” at Pechanga Resort & Casino. Doors open at 3:30 p.m., first bout at 4 p.m. Tickets are $50-150. 

1/17, Concert - Sonic Escape trio at the Old Town Temecula Community Theater at 7:30. Tickets are $30 regular admission, seniors are $25, student rush tickets $10. Group and family discounts available.

1/18, Concert - The Mills Brothers at the Old Town Temecula Community Theater at 2 p.m. Tickets are $37 regular admission, $35 senior, $25 student rush, group and family discounts available.
 
1/17, Walking Tour – Walking tour of Old Town Temecula beginning at 10 a.m. $2 fee, takes approx.. 2 hours, bring water and wear walking shoes.
