RIVERSIDE WEEKEND EVENTS

Now thru 5/16, Exhibit - “The Provoke Era” Japanese photography exhibit at UCR ARTSblock Culver Center for the Arts Tuesdays through Saturdays 12-5 p.m. $3 general admission, free for seniors, members and children under 12.

Now thru 7/18, Exhibit - “Interrogating Manzanar: Photography, Justice and the Japanese American Internment” at the California Museum of Photography Tuesday through Saturday 12-5 p.m. Admission is $3 general, free for seniors, members and children under 12. 

Now through 5/9, Theater - “Clybourne Park” at Riverside City College’s Singletary Hall at 7 p,m., May 9 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $15.

5/7-9, Theater – “Seussical The Musical” at Ramona High School Theater at 7 p.m. Tickets are $5 at the door.

5/8-9, Theater - Allegiant Christian School presents “Peter Pan” at The Box at The Fox Entertainment Plaza Friday at 7 p.m. and Saturday at 2 and 6 p.m. Tickets are $6 in presale, $8 at the door.  

5/8, Music - DJ Erok at Proabition Fridays at 10 p.m.

5/9, Nature - Second Saturdays event at Sycamore Canyon Wilderness Park at 11 a.m. Family-friendly event with crafts, nature walks and more.

5/9, Concert - Wang Chung performs at Romano’s Concert Lounge beginning at 8:30 p.m. Tickets are $25 presale, $30 at the door.

5/9, Zumba - Free family Zumba class at the Cesar Chavez Community Center from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. in Bobby Bonds Park Auditorium.

5/9, Workshop – Master Gardener Workshop “Gophers, Squirrels and Moles, Oh My!”  at Landscapes of Southern California at 11 a.m.

5/9, Theater - “The Sound of Music” sing-along version at the First United Methodist Church at 2 and 6 p.m. Tickets are $15, family 4-pack is $50.

5/9, Concert - Riverside County Philharmonic at the Fox Performing Arts Center at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $31-101.

5/9, Fundraiser - 25th Annual Men Who Cook Fundraiser at YWCA Riverside County from 4:30 -8 p.m.$5 beer tastings, admission includes 5 food tastings and water.  Tickets are $25 pre-paid, $30 at the door, $10 kids under 12.

5/9, Nature Saturday - Free family friendly event with nature-based crafts at Sycamore Canyon Wilderness Park

5/10, Screening - Screening of “Hafu: The Mixed Race” at 1, 3 and 5 p.m. at The Center for Social Justice. Free admission, limited seating. 

 

REDLANDS WEEKEND EVENTS

Now thru  5/10, weekends, Theater - “Esther” performed at the Lifehouse Theater Friday at 7:30 p.m. , Saturdays at 2:15 and 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 2:15 p.m. Admission is $14-18 for adults, $7-9 for children 3-11.

Now through 5/17, weekends, Circus - 75th season of the Great All-American Youth Circus at the Redlands Family YMCA Fridays at 7 p.m., Saturdays at 5 p.m. and Sundays at 3 p.m. Tickets are $15a adults, children 12 and under $10, under 3 free if they sit on parents lap.

5/9, Family Fun Day - Enjoy Family Fun Day at San Bernardino County Museum with hands-on previews of upcoming summer programs. 11-4 p.m. Adults $10, military or seniors $8, students $7, 5-12 $5 and 5 and under free.

5/9, Opening - Season opening at Splash Kingdom from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. $20 admission includes waterpark, zipline, free  meal and concert featuring local bands and Kendall Shmidt from Big Time Rush.  See website for details.

5/9, Fundraiser - Spring fashion shoe and luncheon  featuring DenM, Nectar and Seed at Redlands East Valley High School’s Wildcat Café from 9-11 a.m. $30 per person, see website for purchase.

5/9, Workshop - MELT introduction workshop at The Energy Lab from 10:30 a.m.-12 p.m. $25 for the neurofacial technique class.

5/9, Tea Party - Redlands Bowl Associates tea party from 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. at the University of Redlands Orton Center. Tickets are $50 per person, see flier for details.

5/9, Walk - Chasing Butterflies 5K walk to fundraise for the Turner Syndrome Society of the United States. Registration opens at 8 a.m., walk begins at 9 a.m. Registration is $15 adult, $10 children 6-17.

5/9, Tour - “Meet me at the triangle” tour through historic Redlands from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. Tickets are $35, register online. 

 

SAN BERNARDINO WEEKEND EVENTS

5/10, Swing - Sunday swing dancing at AMF Arrowhead Lanes. Classes from 5:15-7, $8 each class. $7:30-9, free dance for $12. 

 

CORONA WEEKEND EVENTS

5/9-6/21, weekends, Reniassance Fair - Koroneberg Renaissance Festival at Crossroads Riverview Park from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday. Jousting, games, food and revelry. Tickets are $18 adilts, $15 seniors and children 5-11, $12 military.  Open Memorial Day. 

5/9, Concert - Doux Boys with Funhouse at M15 Concert Bar and Grill. Doors open at 7 p.m., tickets are $10 for the 18 and over show. 

 

CHINO & NORCO WEEKEND EVENTS

5/9, Bike Event - Chino Bike Day at Founders Park/ Preserve Community Center from 9-11 a.m. Bicycle safety workshop and community bike ride, free event.  

5/9, Workshop  - Backyard composting workshop at the Norco Library at 10 a.m. Free workshop, geobins available for purchase for $12.

POMONA WEEKEND EVENTS

5/8-9, Show - West Coast Historical Militaria Collectibles Show from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday at the Fairplex’s  Expo Hall 4. General admission is $8, kids $3 and a two-day pass is $10. Active military and families are free, parking $10 at Gate 17.

5/9, Concert – Cartel performs at The Glass House at 7:45 p.m. Tickets are $16-18.

5/9, Run - The Sandi Spetnagel Annual Fun Run/Walk at the Fairplex beginning at 7 a.m. Free run, and family-friendly events,  pancake breakfast for $5.


5/9, Festival - Inaugural LA on Tap beer festival at the Fairplex  in the Plaza of the States. Food, beer tasting, education and more. Admission is $10 for designated drivers, $50-125 admission, 21 and over only.

5/9, Art Walk - Art Walk from 6-9 p.m. in downtown Pomona. Galleries and restaurants open during the free event.

5/9, Pomona Valley Art Underground Exhibit - Learn more about the underground art and music scene in the Pomona Valley in this unique exhibit. Free to the public

5/9, Trains - Rail Giants Train Museum open from 10 a.m.-5 p.m., park at Gate 17. 

 

CLAREMONT & UPLAND WEEKEND EVENTS

Now through 5/10, Theater - “Smoke on the Mountain” at the Candelight Pavilion Dinner Theater.  Tickets are $64-73.

5/8-9, Comedy - Joey Medina at Flappers Comedy Club Friday at8 and 10 p.m. and Saturday 7 and 9 p.m. Tickets are $20. 

5/8, Gardens - Free admission to Rancho Santa Ana Botanic Garden in celebration of National Public Gardens Day from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Behind the scenes tours and garden walking tours throughout the day, see site for schedule.

5/9, Workshop - Mother’s Day bouquet workshop at Rancho Santa Ana Botanic Garden from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Participants will gather flowers from the garden and arrange in upcycled vases. $25 per bouquet for members, $32 non-members. 

5/9, Celebration - Founder’s Day celebration from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. in downtown Upland. $5 guided tours of historic area, reenactment at 1 p.m.  car show, vendors and craft fair.

RANCHO CUCAMONGA WEEKEND EVENTS

5/9-10, Musical - “Fancy Nancy the Musical” at the Lewis Family  Playhouse Saturday at 1 and 4 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m. Tickets are $18 general admission, $16 seniors and youth. For ages 2 and up. 

5/9, Bicycle Rodeo - Free bike education event for community youth at Central Park, with bike rides, safety giveaways, bike raffles and obstacle course. 8:30-12 p.m.

5/9, Market - The INSPIREDinland Market from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. Local artisans, antiques and more at the parking lot in front of The Wine Tailor and Coffee Klatch.

5/9, Kids Event - Victoria gardens Kidz Club butterfly craft event from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at Chaffey Town Square. Tie-dye butterfly craft for ages 3-10, information about the Kidz Club is available through Guest Services. 

 

FONTANA & ONTARIO WEEKEND EVENTS

5/8-10, Comedy – Michael Yo at the Improv Comedy Club Friday at 7:30 and 9:30 .m., Saturday at  7 and 9 p.m., and Sunday at 7 p.m. Tickets are $20.

5/9, Run - Together in His Arms 5K run/Walk at the Citizens Business Bank Arena. Regsitration begins at 7 a.m., race at 8:30 a.m. Adults are $35, child under 16 is $20.

5/9, Art – “Tea with the Juror” with juror Rebecca Trawick at the Museum of History and Art open art exhibition from 2-4 p.m. Members are $8, non-members $10.

5/9, Star Wars – 5th annual May the Force Be With You celebration at Ontario Town Square from 3-6 p.m.  Crafts, games and more, free admission.

5/9, Dinner Theater - “The Dinner Detective” murder mystery show at the Ontario Convention Center from 6:15-9 p.m. Dinner and show is $65, reserve online. 

5/9, Driving School – Rusty Wallace Racing Experience at the Auto Club Speedway. See website for racing packages. 

 

 

DESERT AREAS WEEKEND EVENTS

 5/9-10, Bluegrass - Bluegrass in the Spring festival at Calico Ghost Town. Town open from 8 a.m.- 5 p.m., Saturday night concert at 7  p.m. Admission to the festival is $15 adults, $10 for ages 6-15, 5 and under free. 

5/9, Festival - High Five Festival at the Ace Hotel  Friday from 10 p.m.-2 a.m., Saturday  from 12-6 p.m. 10 p.m.-2 a.m. and Sunday 12-6 p.m. Free event open to hotel guests and public until capacity is reached.

 5/9, Fundraiser - Evening Under the Stars fundraiser  for the Aids Assistance Program at the O’Donnell Golf Club from 5:30-10 p.m. Dancing, cocktails, awards and fireworks, tickets start at $395. 

5/9, Pet Walk - Pet Walk at the Hesperia Civic Plaza Park from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Fundraiser to support senior pet adoption programs and other services. 

 

LAKE ELSINORE, WINCHESTER & TEMECULA WEEKEND EVENTS

5/8, Family Event – Temecula’s Double Dare Challenge at Harveston Community Park from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Obstacle course, dress to get messy. Registration is $3.

5/8, Salsa - Salsa social dancing at The Ballroom at 9 p.m. $10 each person.

 5/8, Wine Workshop - Leoness Cellars Wine & Vine Symposium from 4-6:30 p.m. Wine tasting and speaker panel. $45 members, $49 non-members.

5/9, Walk – SW Riverside County Heart & Stroke Walk at Lake Skinner. Opening ceremony at 6 p.m., walk begins at 6:30 p.m., sunset glow and closing ceremony at 7:45 p.m.

 5/9, Garden Show  - Temecula Valley Garden Club flower show from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Temecula Community Recreation Center. Free admission and parking, contact club for flower entry information.

5/9, Jazz - Speakeasy at the Temecula Community Center at 7 p.m. Tickets are $12-15. 

5/9, Pet Walk – Twenty15 Pet Walk at Diamond Stadium Parking lot B from 9-11 a.m. vendors, mobile grooming and more, see site for details.
