HIGH DESERT ROCK CLIMBING

Apple Valley Crags - This covers the countless peaks centered around the Apple Valley area, some of which include Horsemen’s Center, The Dead Zone, Fairview Mountain, and more. See website for individual climbing routes.

 

 

LAKE ARROWHEAD ROCK CLIMBING

Lake Arrowhead Pinnacles – The Pinnacles of Lake Arrowhead is a group of small, granite peaks Northwest of Lake Arrowhead in the San Bernardino Mountains. There are many climbing opportunities with numerous of bolted climbs scattered throughout the hills. At least 5 walls/groups of outcroppings that are bolted, with an area totaling in more than 50 routes. See website for individual climbing routes.

Scot Rock – Scot Rock is a beautiful 200 piece of granite, set on the south flank of the San Bernardino Mountains near Lake Arrowhead. The rock is of high quality and divided into two faces with technical climbing.  See website for individual climbing routes.

Seely Creek – Seely Creek is a small area with potential for top rope and trad climbing. Routes begin in canyon with flowing creek and small waterfall. 


Sphinx Rock Area (The Cliff Hanger) – Sphinx Rock Area, south-facing crag overlooks the city. See website for individual climbing routes.

 

 

RIVERSIDE ROCK CLIMBING

Box Springs Mountain Park – Box Springs Mountain Park offers short climbing routes. See website for individual climbing routes. 

Doty Trust Park - See website for individual climbing routes. 

Graffiti Falls Area – Locals know this location as “Graffiti Falls,” although most of the place is tagged up climbers have access to the climb. 

Mount Rubidoux – Mt. Rubidoux is a large 161 acre hill overlooking the City of Riverside. Road improvements have boosted the number of walkers, joggers, bicyclists, and climbers. See website for individual climbing routes. 

Riverside Quarry - In the summer you can climb to noon, in the winter climb in the Agony Arch area in the morning and the rest of the crag in the afternoon. Popular area for dirt bikers. See website for individual climbing routes.

RUNNING SPRINGS ROCK CLIMBING

Arrowbear Boulders – Arrowbear Boulders is a group of boulders and small crags near Arrowbear Lake.

Deep Creek - Stream passes through the town of Running Springs on it's way to join the West Fork of the Mojave River in the high desert is a beautiful mountain environment. See website for individual climbing routes 

Keller Peak - Keller Peak area offers great climbing on over 200 routes and much bouldering for most of the year. There are many locations for climbing along the road as well as eleven free campsites. See website for individual climbing routes.

School Rock (Eagle Eye Rock) – School Rock known as Eagle Eye Rock is a sixty foot high, west-facing formation with a nice selection of routes from 5.5 to 5.12 on clean, compact granite offering year-round climbing provided snow levels aren't too high. MOUNTAIN AREA ROCK CLIMBING 

San Bernardino Mountains – San Bernardino Mountains are home to the tallest peak in Southern California, Mt. San Gorgonio, as well as numerous hiking trails, campgrounds, off-road trails. Three major climbing areas exist in the SB's - the Lake Arrowhead Pinnacles, Keller Peak and the Holcomb Valley Pinnacles; these are areas with enough climbing to keep one busy for days or more. There also exists many other minor areas which are worth checking out for a day or less of climbing. See website for individual climbing routes. 

Tahquitz & Suicide Rocks – Tahquitz & Suicide Rocks offer numerous climbs of all levels from one to seven pitches in length. See website for individual climbing routes.

 

 

TEMECULA & LAKE PERIS ROCK CLIMBING 

Big Rock Area - Big Rock is located in southern part of Lake Perris State Recreation Area. Most of the routes are found on the main wall, containing about thirty routes. See website for individual climbing routes.
