4/25, Mojave Museum – Mojave River Valley Museum in Barstow from 11a.m. to 4p.m. Admission is free. This small museum packs a ton of history. With a goal to preserve and promote the cultural, scientific and historical heritage of Mojave River Valley, you will find displays and exhibits that include history on Native Americans, miners, railroads, pioneers and even the space program.
4/26, Book Launch Party – Shannon Messenger Launch Party at Barnes & Noble at Montclair Place from 7a.m. to 10p.m. Barnes & Noble celebrates the third installment of the teen Sky Fall series, written by Shannon Messenger. 4/27, Kids Cooking Class – Kids Can Cook at Eastside Library in Riverside at 3:30p.m. Cost is free. With shows like Chopped Junior encouraging children to step up their game in the kitchen, it’s no surprise there are local ways to allow your child to exercise their kitchen skill and creativity. Be sure to bring an apron, and get ready to cook up some delicious foods at the library.
4/28, Mining – Gemstone and Fossil Mining at Gold Rush Mining Adventures in Big Bear Lake from around 10a.m. to 5p.m. For those with an interest in mining for precious gemstones, geodes, fossils, rocks and minerals, this family activity will certainly up the excitement as you get to, “Pan ore like a real miner!”
4/28, Circus – Circus Vargas presents iLUMINOUS at Ontario Mills at 7:30p.m. Ticket prices range from $15-70. Arrive 45 minutes early for a pre-show the children will enjoy, and you can also stay after the show to meet and greet with your favorite performers. This new performance has high-energy, brave daredevils flying high through aerial tricks. Don’t miss the contortionists, athletic bouncers, motorcycle stuntmen and so much more.
4/29, Airshow – Planes of Fame Airshow at Chino Airport at 12p.m. Admission prices range from $0-25. This airshow features almost 50 historic aircraft, vendors and interesting displays. There is also a salute to our veterans. Overall, guests young and old will be captivated by this family fun event.
