Arts | Seven of the IE's Classic Christmas Plays

There are certain holiday stories that evoke the heartwarming feelings of Christmas, which are much more meaningful than any Black Friday sale you will find. Remember the true spirit of this holiday with some of the Inland Empire’s classic Christmas plays.


11/27-29 – The Nutcracker Ballet Presented by Inland Valley Classical Ballet Theatre 2015 at Old Town Temecula Community Theater. Tickets range from $18-22. The magic of the holiday season starts with classic tales. From a beautiful Sugar Plum Fairy to the toy Nutcracker that comes to life, you will love witnessing this grand performance.


11/28-29, 12/3-6, 12/9-13, 12/16-20, 12/22-27 – Home For Christmas at Candlelight Pavilion in Claremont. Tickets range from $58-73. The Candlelight Pavilion has a Christmas tradition of its own; for 30 years they have been writing and producing unique Christmas plays with nostalgia and family traditions in mind. Come see Home For Christmas for its first showing ever, and remember what the holiday season is all about—being with family and friends.


12/3, 12/5-6, 12/8-13A Christmas Carol at Old Town Temecula Community Theater. Tickets range from $10-25. Ebenezer Scrooge is a man who, believe it or not, does not like Christmas. After he is woken up by spirits who show him the true meaning of Christmas, will Scrooge be a changed man? You’ll just have to see for yourself.


12/4-31 – Holiday Follies at Tibbie’s Center Stage Fontana Thursdays at 7p.m., Fridays at 7:30p.m., Saturdays at 2p.m. and 7:30p.m. and Sundays at 2p.m. and 7:30p.m. Show-only tickets are $20. See website for dinner show menu and pricing. This popular song and dance plus dinner performance has been an Inland Empire favorite for 15 years.


12/5-6, 12/12-13 – Miracle on 34th Street at Lewis Family Playhouse in Rancho Cucamonga. Tickets range from $16-$22.50. Recommended for guests ages eight and older. Nothing says Christmas quite like this classic tale. Learn about how love and generosity are the biggest gifts we can share this holiday season (and year-round)!


12/12-14 – A Christmas Carol at Riverside Community Players. Price for an individual ticket is $10. Ebenezer Scrooge is about to have a wake up call after he is visited by four ghosts on Christmas Eve. Will this miserable man find joy in his heart?


12/12-13 – The Nutcracker - Inland Pacific Ballet at Fox Performing Arts Center in Riverside. Tickets range from $38-55. Performances are for those ages three and older. Do you have visions of sugar plums dancing in your head? If not, the colorful costumes and beautiful dancing of this magical performance will change that in no time.
