DIY/Craft | Summer-Themed Popsicle Banner
By: Rina Gonzales, Mothership Scrapbook Gal
Hello Crafters! I am so happy to share another summer craft with IEShineOn.com this month. I have been inspired by a couple of things . . . I have these popsicle lights hanging in my backyard, and I paused briefly at Michaels when I saw a popsicle banner. In the back of my mind I said, "I can make that, and it will look even better!" So, this month I made a very fun "Summer-Themed Popsicle Banner." I made the template for the popsicle myself too!
Here are my craft supplies:
- Large Mason Jar
- Colored cardstock
- Large popsicle sticks
- Aleene's Turbo Tacky Glue
- Small circle hole punch
- Pipe Cleaner
- Small hole punch
Step 1: I created my template of the popsicle shape. I then traced my template onto my colored cardstock—I used five different bright colors!
Step 2: Next, I cut the large popsicle sticks in half and then glued them to the popsicle shapes. I used my favorite glue—Aleene's Turbo Tacky Glue and also some clothespins to keep the popsicle stick on the paper. They will dry pretty quick, as the glue is turbo infused. They really looked like popsicles now!
Step 3: I then decorated the popsicles with dots and pipe cleaner and used glue to adhere these embellishments. This is your chance to be creative and make your banner unique. You can also add letters, bling, sequins or buttons!
Step 4: After your banner has dried, you can now punch the holes and thread the twine through the holes. Your banner is now ready to hang!
