DIY/Craft | Simple Party Gift Bags

By: Rina Gonzales, Mothership Scrapbook Gal

Hi there!

As summer winds down—we enter fall, and the crafting becomes all about the holidays!!! Stay tuned in the next few months for my DIY Holiday Craft ideas. For this month, I am bringing it back to basics and providing a quick craft for party hosts.

My friend, Leticia, plans the BEST scrapbook days at the Prima Scrapbook Outlet in Chino, and she also makes the cutest gift favors and bags. So, I took her idea to use doilies as an embellishment and made my own spin for some goodie bags that I made recently.

Here are my supplies for these Simple Party Gift Bags:

- Paper gift bags (any size/color)
- Paper doilies (you can buy these in bulk at Smart & Final)
- Paper flowers
- Buttons
- Aleene's Turbo Tacky

Step 1: I made an assembly line and laid out a dozen doilies, I then glued (using Aleene's Turbo Tacky Glue) the paper flowers, and the buttons to the flower centers. I then let the glue dry.

Step 2: I then add the paper doily to the front of a gift bag. These gift bags were flat paper bags, and I folded the bag and then glued the embellishment. You could also use a stapler if you are crafting in a hurry and do not want to wait for glue to dry. I would suggest you staple under the flower petals so the staple is less visible. TIP: If possible, you may want to stuff your gift bag before you add the final touch of the embellishment.
