Inland Empire Beer Week Kicks Off Saturday
By Sid Robinson
The Inland Empire will celebrate its first official “Beer Week” on Saturday, Sept. 17, with a series of special events around the region that will spotlight the area’s rapidly growing world of craft beer.
The events are the collaborative efforts of members of the Inland Empire Brewers Guild, a cooperative group of craft breweries throughout San Bernardino and Riverside counties.
The fun begins with the inaugural Summer Send Off Beer Festival on Saturday, Sept. 17, at Riverside Municipal Airport. Breweries from the Inland Empire and throughout Southern California will officially close the summer season and launch IE Beer Week with dozens of craft breweries pouring some of their finest brews. The event will also feature food trucks, live entertainment and more.
The rest of the week will feature an assortment of activities. For example, Temecula’s Heart of the House Restaurant and Devilicious Eatery and Taproom will offer food and beer pairings throughout IE Beer Week.
On Sunday, Sept. 18, Hideaway Café in Riverside and the Shamrock Irish Pub and Eatery in Murrieta will have special football and craft beer events. The football theme continues on Sept. 19, with Monday Night Football at Stadium Pizza in Wildomar.
IE Beer Week activities will also be held at recently opened Oggi’s Sports Brewhouse in Upland and Crush and Brew in Temecula on Tuesday, Sept. 20; O’Donovan’s Restaurant and Pub in Pomona on Sept. 21; The Last Stop Shoppe in Temecula on Sept. 22; Backyard Bottle Shop and Taproom in Murrieta on Sept. 23. The week concludes with Wiensfest at Wiens Brewery in Temecula on Sept. 24.
