It’s finally time for the 11th Annual Chanukah Festival presented by the Chabad Jewish Community Center! This event will be held on Monday December 7th from 6p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Riverside County Historic Courthouse, 4050 Main St., Riverside, CA. There will be fun activities for the whole family, and everyone is welcome!
The main event of the festival will be the Grand Menorah lighting, which is sure to be beautiful. The lighting will kick off Chanukah or Hanukkah, as most people know it. Professional candle maker Quayam Abdul will be there making the candles, and there will be the opportunity to get customized Chanukah candles. Don’t worry if you aren’t Jewish, you are still invited! This event is open to the public, and everyone from any age or background is invited.
There will be traditional Jewish food, which if you haven’t had it, tastes amazing! Some of the options will be latkes, matzah ball soup, doughnuts, lokshan kugel and chocolate gelt. There will also be live music and fun activities for the whole family! One of the most exciting aspects of the event will be the Cirque Zuma Zuma’s performance; they are an African acrobatic troupe. The competed on the hit show America’s Got Talent, and made it all the way to the semi-finals. This is a performance you don’t want to miss. Watch the video down below and you’ll see why—also you’re welcome.
The Chanukah Festival brings the community together to celebrate a special event. Even if you aren’t Jewish it’s a way to learn about the faith and meet new people. There will be an ASL interpreter, so everyone is sure to have fun! Admission to the event is free but if you go here, you can make a donation or volunteer.
