The San Bernardino Valley Concert Association brings the city of San Bernardino a new establishment of arts and culture—the San Bernardino Arts Center on Saturday, November 14th. The building that is now the Arts Center was built back in 1935, with classic Spanish Revival architecture. As you walk down the arcaded walkways, it will take you back in time. Sixty volunteers have put their time and work into restoring this wonderful building. The San Bernardino Valley Concert Association brought together local volunteers and organizations to make this happen.

The grand opening for the Arts Center will give patrons the opportunity to explore an art gallery. A San Bernardino-local middle and high school will be presenting their exhibition, “What I Like About San Bernardino.” Not only will there be this fun art show, but there will also be live music, tours and a dedication of the building. Food and refreshments will be provided. Not only will the building be used for art shows but it will have many purposes. It will be used as a community meeting room, an auditorium for performances, and it will also host studios. One of the coolest bits of information is that there future plans to build a glass-working studio. The Arts Center will bring the arts community to San Bernardino, as well as reviving a piece of history.

So come by on November 14, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the corner of E and 11th Street. Call (909) 862-3662 or visit their website for more information about the exhibit. Don’t miss this great step for San Bernardino; it’s one for the books!
