This July, musical performers of the 1950s and ‘60s are coming to perform top hits of the golden era of pop music. Artists like Shirley Alston Reeves of The Shirelles, Maurice Williams and The Zodiacs, J.T. Carter from The Crests, Eugene Pitt of The Jive Five and Jimmy Stephens and The Safaris will be sharing the stage at the “Legends of Doo-Wop Vol. II” concert. Radio personality Dave “The Hullabalooer” Hull will start the show at 7 p.m.

Host Dave “The Hullabalooer” Hull worked closely with musical groups like The Rolling Stones and The Beach Boys, and was host the TV show, Matchmaker, in the ‘80s. Shirley Alston Reeves is a Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Famer, uniting the sounds of doo-wop, pop and rhythm and blues. Maurice Williams and The Zodiacs have laid the groundwork for artists like The Four Seasons and Jackson Browne, selling millions of records over the years.

JT Carter, originator of The Crests, has had multiple Top 40 hits, and in 2015 was accepted as a member of the Record Academy also known as The Grammy’s. Eugene Pitt of The Jive Five have been making hits since the early ‘60s, and will be debuting a Christmas gospel album later this year. Jimmy Stephens and The Safaris formed in 1959 in Los Angeles and resumed performing together again in 2007.
