Nightlife | Hotel Casa 425

Centrally located on the Claremont Packinghouse side of Indian Hill Boulevard, Hotel Casa 425 is a boutique hotel that attracts just as many locals as it does travelers for its contemporary, stylish atmosphere.

Lounge 425, the bar and lounge at the hotel, extends from off the lobby and into a large, outdoor patio, which is lined with crisp white walls and linens. The indoor portion of the bar is well lit and beautiful, with friendly bartenders serving a full bar of signature cocktails, local brews and spectacular wines by the bottle, as well as savory small plates. Referred to by the hotel as an outdoor living room, a comfortable patio area provides ample seating options for large parties or more intimate groups, and the oversized, glass-filled fire pits are certainly spots worth reserving for their warmth and charm.

The lounge is typically buzzing with guests staying at the hotel and those who have just stopped by for some quality refreshments. On our particular visit, we were accompanied by a large group. With reservations, we were lucky enough to cozy up next to the fire pit, which is nice as the evenings was still a little cool.

A great tip about visiting Lounge 425 is that they have a fantastic and delicious Happy Hour from Monday to Saturday, 4p.m. to 7p.m. We love this Happy Hour, because it makes this a perfect stop for drinks and appetizers before a movie at the Laemmle theater, dinner or local comedy show at Flappers Comedy. You can also enjoy Happy Hour on Sundays from 4p.m. to 9p.m.

When we went to Lounge 425 with a large group for some drinks, food and conversation, we basically tried everything offered on their Happy Hour menu. As one might guess, you can’t go wrong with their onion rings. These crispy, hand-battered beauties were served with your choice of classic ketchup or a spicy and exciting aoili. To contrast the fried goodness, the Apple & Beat salad was a fresh option that still had enough flavor considering the walnuts, goat cheese and their homemade vinaigrette dressing. Our group also tried many drinks from Happy Hour cocktails like their Zombie 425 and Peachberry Martini to their featured brew on the rotating tap, which happened to be from local Claremont Craft Ales.

In addition to great food and drinks, you can find additional entertainment happening at Lounge 425 consistently throughout the week. On select Saturdays and Sundays from May through October, painting classes will be offered in the courtyard for a fee. Also starting in May there will be Live in the Lounge, which is live music happening every Wednesday from 6p.m. to 9p.m. and select Saturdays from 7p.m. to 10p.m. Check their events to find out even more of what’s good at Hotel Casa 425’s lounge.
