Ophelia's Jump Theatre presents 'Quilters'

Ophelia’s Jump Theatre presents “Quilters”—featuring stirring folk music performed live by traditional instruments— by Molly Newman and Barbara Damashek, Jan.27-Feb. 5, 2017. The multi-Tony Award nominated musical production plays this month at The Theatre Company Performing Arts Studio in Upland.
Quiltesr, based on narratives of real women, is a moving celebration of American Womanhood became a record-setting regional theater success before its presentations on Broadway and at the Edinburgh Festival. The musical play is a combination of music, dance movement and scenes of vivid dramatic intensity, demonstrating eloquent tribute to the courage and spirit of our nation’s pioneer women.
The play is based on the book The Quilters: Women and Domestic Art by Patricia Cooper and Norma Bradley. Originally presented by The Denver Theater Company, Quilters opened on Broadway in 1984 and was nominated for six Tony Awards, including Best Musical.
Quilters will run weekends Jan.27-Feb.5, 2017. Curtain times are Friday-Saturday 8 p.m., and Sunday 4 p.m.
Ticket admission is $26 for general, $23 for students/seniors, $21 for “Hangry” Artists (bring in program with name in credit).
