Big Bear Lake presents the 8th annual Paddlefest, on Saturday, July 18th at a new location—the Pines Lakefront.

Grab your paddles and boards because Big Bear Lake is hosting their annual Paddlefest sport day event. Whether you kayak, canoe or use a stand-up paddleboard, this is the perfect way for your show off your skills on the water. Races include a 20K and 10K with the use of a canoe or a kayak. They also have a solo and tandem races and a 5K stand-up paddleboarding race. Be sure to bring a team that is ready to compete in relay races as well. This sports event is perfect for all ages that groups you based off of your age and skill level. And even the kids get to have fun out on the water too with the free paddle event from ages 5 to 12.

North Shore Trading Company in Fawnskin is sponsoring the Big Bear Paddlefest and is offering clinics available for beginners and advanced paddlers with the help of local instructors. For those that enjoy yoga, a hybrid class will have two sessions at 7:30a.m. and 9a.m. These class sessions will combine yoga on stand up paddleboards, and participants can learn new skills that will help with balance and breathing.

However, if your not interested in showing off your mad skill, there is still plenty to enjoy at Paddlefest. With the new location at Pines Lakefront, there is a lot of space to view the races and cheer on your friends and neighbors. Be sure to check out the vendor expo featuring US Coast guard Auxiliary Paddlecraft, Desolation Outdoors, Smith Optics, Clif Bar and many more. The day will end with awards, food, games and a beach party.
