We are always looking for new family-friendly activities throughout the week to keep you interested. This week, we’re bringing a mix of events that would make the animal lover, athlete, sports fan, literary fan or artist happy. Is it obvious that we’re also trying to include something for everyone? We hope you enjoy the lovely week ahead!

2/23, Bike Ride – Ride Your Bike through the Claremont Hills Wilderness Park. Parking for the Claremont Hills Wilderness Park is located on Mills Avenue at the park entrance, as well as at the corner of Mills Avenue and Mt. Baldy Road. Daily parking is $3. Fresh air, winding trails and beautiful scenery are all top reasons to enjoy the wilderness park at the foothills. It’s also great exercise and a fun excuse to get outside.

2/24, Responsible Pet Ownership – Spay or Neuter your Outdoor/Free Roaming Cat(s) during Operation Cat Nip at RC Animal Shelter in Rancho Cucamonga. Free for Rancho residents, $30 for Fontana residents. By appointment only. Limited to three cats per household. Not your typical family outing, this is really just an important opportunity to help control the pet population, so we don't necessarily recommend bringing the little ones. Spread the word to RC residents, and do your part to make sure no animal companion ends up without a loving home.

2/25, Meet a Former Pro Baseball Player – Meet and Greet with Dodger Al Ferrara at Dale Bros. Brewery in Upland at 6p.m. Admission is free. Foothill Family Shelter, Upland Chamber, Montclair Chamber and others in our community join forces to introduce former Dodger, Al Ferrara. There will be food and music, as well as an opportunity to hear more from this former baseball pro. If you donate $20, you receive a meet and greet, as well as a signed 8x10, and the proceeds benefit Foothill Family Shelter.

2/26, Play Basketball – Basketball Open Play at the RC Family Sports Center in Rancho Cucamonga from 9a.m. to 9p.m. Prices are $1.50 for youth and $3.50 for adults 18 and over. If you’re looking for a court to casually drop in on any day of the week, then this is exactly the place you want to be. Although reservations are not required, you can call ahead to check availability. Be sure to bring your A-game!

2/26, Interactive Exhibit – "The Magic Treehouse Traveling Exhibit" at Western Science Center in Hemet at 10a.m. Prices are $6-8. This story was first created by the St. Louis Children’s Museum and was based off a popular childrens’ book. 2/27, Film Festival – Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour at Fox Entertainment Center in Redlands at 7p.m. General admission is $15. If you’re into mountain culture, extreme mountain sports and films, then you’re going to think you’ve died and gone to heaven . . . This film fest features 19 films, each night something different, ultimately benefitted non-profit The San Gorgonio Wilderness Association.

2/27, Farmers’ Market – Kaiser Permanente Riverside Certified Farmers' Market at Kaiser Permanente Riverside Medical Center from 10a.m. to 2p.m. Local craftsman, artists, growers, farmers, producers and more bring their best to this market every week for the loyal customers in Riverside and beyond.
