This week is almost solely about the kids. We have great ways to expand their growing minds, and there might even be a couple opportunities for you to learn something as well. From learning spanish in Upland to storytime in Redlands, we’ve got families throughout the IE covered with loads of family-fun!


2/2, Spanish for Kids –  Bilingual Storytime at the Upland Public Library at 5:30p.m. Price is free. This is a great opportunity for your children to learn how to speak spanish. After all, experts have always said that young minds can absorb other languages quite naturally. Get it a try, you might even learn something yourself!



2/3, History MusicalLifeTales presents Ben Franklin at LifeHouse Theater in Redlands at 9:15a.m. and 11a.m. Check website for additional showtimes throughout the week. Tickets are $7 each. Benjamin Franklin is a true American hero, and there’s no better way to educate the little ones about this inventor, writer, statesman and patriot than this musical performance.


2/4, Toddler Activity – Preschool Storytime and Craft at A.K. Smiley Public Library in Redlands at 10:15a.m. Bring your children along to make friends with others while enjoying storytime and songs at in the Assembly Room at this local library. Stick around afterwards to make a craft, which you child can take home as a reminder of all the fun they had!


2/5, Salsa Music & Dance – Noches con Ritmo at the Steelworkers’ Auditorium in Fontana from 7p.m. to 12a.m. Admission is $5 before 9p.m. and $7 after 9p.m. Ages 18 and over. Make sure you show up on time, as the dance instruction begins promptly at 7p.m. Band performances by Son Mayor and DJ Braulio will get you moving, with appetizers and beverages keeping you energized throughout the night.

2/5, Family Movie – Thursday Night Theatre: Hollywood Histories at Ovitt Family Community Library in Ontario at 6:30p.m. This free event gives children and adults a history lesson that is submerged in reality. Through the showing of four popular films, important historical and social events throughout our history are highlighted with this artistic expression.


2/6, Farmers Market – Heritage Farmers Market Certified Farmers Market on South Mainstreet at Victoria Gardens in Rancho Cucamonga from 10a.m. to 2p.m. If fresh produce and sunny California mornings are something you enjoy, then this is a great place to spend the start of your weekend. Come check the vendors selling all sorts of goods . . . edible, decorative and even handmade.

2/6, Dracula MusicalDracula at Grove Theatre in Upland at 7:30p.m. Price is $20. This re-vamped version of a tale as old as time is bringing bloodsucking and immortality to a local theatre near you. Follow Count Dracula as he travels about from England to Transylvania as he battles the vampire hunter Val Helsing.
