There’s nothing that says childhood like dinosaurs, planes, trains and automobiles. Visit one of our local museums this week; boys, girls and the young-at-heart will be intrigued by all these fascinating exhibits.

9/14, Car Museum – Visit Riverside International Automotive Museum in Riverside from 10a.mm. to 4p.m. Museum is open Monday through Saturday. Admission is $10 for adults, $7 for students and seniors and $5 for museum members. Our local community has some fascinating history of the automotive industry and raceways. Spend a day checking out the exhibits and artifacts from the Riverside International Raceway, the Ontario Motor Speedway and more.
9/15, Train Museum – Visit Orange Empire Railway Museum in Perris. Grounds are open every day except Christmas and Thanksgiving from 9a.m. to 5p.m. Trains and trolleys only operate on the weekends and holidays. Admission to the museum is free. This railway museum is home to the biggest collection of railway locomotives, streetcars, passenger cars, freight cars, buildings and more in the Western United States. Curious minds will love seeing all these artifacts from the 1870s.
9/16, Dinosaur Museum – Visit the Western Center Museum in Hemet. Museum hours are Tuesday through Sunday from 10a.m. to 5p.m. Admission ranges from $6 to $8, and admission is free for members, children under four and active military with current I.D. The permanent collection alone at this museum holds almost one million paleontological specimens and archaeological artifacts. In addition to this, there are also temporary exhibits that children and adults will appreciate.
9/17, Airplane Museum – Museum hours are Sunday through Friday from 10a.m. to 5p.m. and Saturday from 9a.m. to 5p.m. General admission is $11, $10 for seniors and veterans, $4 for children under 12, active duty military and children ages five and younger are admitted free. Planes of Fame Air Museum in Chino is a must-visit if you have anyone in your family remotely interested in aviation or WWII history. 9/17, Historic Museum – Visit the Motte Historical Museum in Menifee. Museum hours are Wednesday through Saturday from 10a.m. to 4p.m., and the first and third Sunday of every month from 10a.m. to 4p.m. Admission is free. This breathtaking location is a regular host to events like weddings, and its vintage car collection is part of its beauty and charm. This museum comes with a history lesson too!
9/18, Paleontology Museum – Raymond M. Alf Museum of Paleontology at The Webb Schools’ campus in Claremont. Museum hours are Monday through Friday from 8a.m. to 4p.m. and Saturday from 1p.m. to 4p.m. Admission is $6 per person, children four and under are admitted free. Cash and check only please. 9/18, Aviation Museum – Visit Yanks Air Museum in Chino. Museum hours are Thursday through Sunday from 9a.m. to 4p.m. Admission ranges from $5 to $16, and children four and under are admitted free.
