1/3, Rock Climbing – Indoor Rock Climbing at Hangar 18 Climbing Gyms. There are two locations in Riverside, one location in Upland and one location in Rancho Cucamonga. Monday hours are from 10a.m. to 10p.m. Kids under 14 must be accompanied by an adult. Check website for pricing and membership options. Not only is rock climbing a ton of fun; it is an activity that will engage muscles in your body that you didn’t know existed before. Children and adults will have a great time while getting in shape.


1/4, Jogging Trail – Run or jog at Mt. Rubidoux Park in Riverside. Park is open from dusk until dawn and features a paved road that is 3.5 miles and at times is a very steep incline vehicles are not allowed on the road, so you and your whole family will have plenty of room to hold your own personal marathon. Get your fitness on at this historic park if you’re up for the challenge.

1/5, Certified Farmers Market – Certified Farmers Market at Kaiser Ontario Vineyard Medical Offices in the Hospital Courtyard from 10a.m. to 2p.m. This farmers market that happens every Wednesday year-round will have more than enough fruits and veggies to keep you and your family eating healthy all week long. Prepare some healthy recipes, and your family will thank you for a lifetime.


1/6, Indoor Trampoline Park – Toddler Time at Sky Zone Trampoline Park in Riverside from 10a.m. to 12p.m. Cost is $5 per hour. Children five and under can enjoy the safety and fun of this trampoline park, which is dedicated to only them for these two hours. Parents are allowed to jump as well free of charge, however Sky Socks are required for all participants, which are an additional charge.

1/6, Snow Play & Family Fun – Snow Play with Magic Carpet at Alpine Slide at Magic Mountain in Big Bear. See the website for pricing options. Bobsledding down these snow-lined tracks is a thrilling adventure so grand, you’ll forget you’re still in the IE. 1/7, Farmers Market – Victoria’s Farmers Market on South Mainstreet at Victoria Gardens from 10a.m. to 2p.m. Let’s just face it—finding local produce and foods is a difficult task with so many chain grocery stores nearby. Thankfully we can turn to weekly farmers markets like this one to find locally sourced goods, grass fed meat, handmade crafts and more.

1/7, Fitness Trail – Take a hike on Thompson Creek Trail off North Mills Avenue in Claremont. This paved trail sits at the base of Claremont’s mountains. Enjoy the trail, and even pack yourself a lunch to enjoy at the park in the middle of the trail. Don’t forget to keep an eye out for any wildlife.
