The summer nights are long, so make the best of your summer weekends by checking out a couple of the great Inland Empire weekend events we’ve found for you!

Heading for a day out? Check out some cute summer hats and hit a weekend farmers' market to try out a new light & healthy summer recipe.

7/17, Concert - Social Distortion tribute band Total Distortion plays at Romano’s Concert Lounge at 10 p.m. Tickets are $10 for the 21-and-over show.

7/17, Concert - La Ley at the Riverside Municipal Auditorium at 7 p.m. Tickets are $30-50. 

7/18, Concert - Summer Magick Concert at the Universalist-Unitarian Church of Riverside at 7 p.m. Concert features traditional and magical Celtic folk music. $15 admission.

7/18, Concert - IE Rock for the Cure at Romano’s Concert Lounge at 9 p.m. Admission is $10.

7/19, Concert - Lyle Lovette and his Large Band at the Fox Performing Arts Center at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $29.50-69.50.



Now through 9/1, Contest - About Redlands Photography Contest. Cash prizes, photos must meet guidelines, including being shot in city limits. See website for details.

Now through 8/22, Theater - Redlands Theater Festival begins with “Lucky Stiff, “Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story” and “Vanya at Prospect Park. Tickets are 21, group and season passes available, see website for details. Curtain at 8:30 p.m.

Now through 8/9, Theater - “Sleeping Beauty” at LifeHouse Theater Fridays at 7:30 p.m., Saturdays at 2:15 and 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2:15 p.m. Tickets are $14-18 adult, $7-8 ages 3-11. Tickets are #1 more day of show.

Now through 8/7, Summer Camp - Summer Camp and drop –in activities at the San Bernardino County Museum. Select drop in day activities with museum admission from 11 a.m.-4 p.m., see flier for dates.

Now through 7/31, Contest - Find Waldo at any or all 25 participating downtown businesses. Pick up passport in Frugal Frigate, prize party is July 31 from 12-5 p.m.

7/16-17, Dance - Rhythmic Circus at the Redlands Bowl at 8:15 p.m. Free to the public.

7/18, Motocross - Motocross races at Glen Helen Speedway beginning at 10 a.m. $25 fee per motorcycle.

7/18, Festival - Insomniac presents The Voyage at San Manuel Ampitheater and Grounds. Admission is $55 for the 18 and over event.

7/18, Signing - Author Krista Wagner signs copies of “Intent” at the Norman F. Feldheym Library’s Kellogg Room A at 1 p.m.

7/18, Beer Festival - Brew Fest at the National Orange Show Events Center from 1-4 p.m. Beer tasting, food and entertainment. General admission tasting $25, VIP $40 and includes early admission, general admission $10, kids free.


7/18, Kids Event - Kids Night Out at the Chino Youth Museum. Pre-registered children ages 4-10 will cook dinner and participate in activities centered on a book.

7/17, Cosplay - Club Cosplay photo shoot and pre-party at M15 Concert Bar and Grill at 7 p.m. Free admission for the all-ages event.

7/18, Concert - Agent Orange with D.I. at M15 Concert Bar and Grill at 7 p.m. Tickets are $15 for the all-ages event.

7/19, Fitness - The Lauren Powers Iron Classic at M15 Concert Bar and Grill. Tickets are $15 for spectators, doors open at 1 p.m. for registration, prejudging at 3 p.m.



7/17, Concert - From Autumn to Ashes with Hawthorne Heights, Sleepwave, Extinction AD at The Glass House at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $18.

7/18-19, Expo - The Great Train Expo at the Fairplex Expo Hall 7 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.  Tickets are $7 online, 9 at the door, kids 12 and under free. Parking is $10 at Gate 17,

7/18-19, Festival - Viva Pomona! At The Glass House beginning at 4 p.m. Tickets are $20-22 for the all-ages event.

7/18-19, Expo – Body Art Expo at the Fairplex Expo Hall 9 Friday from 2-11 p.m., Saturday 11 a.m.-11 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Tickets are $20-25, parking is $10 at Gate 17.

7/16-26, Theater - “Twelfth Night” and “Titus Andronicus” alternating nights at Pomona College’s Sontag Greek Theater at 8 p.m. $25 general admission, $2 students and seniors.





7/18, Family Event - Family Fun Saturday at the Carnegie Cultural Center featuring Arty Loon, balloon twitting, puppetry and magic. Free admission.



7/16-19, Comedy – Comedian Earthquake at the Ontario Improv Friday at 7:30 and 9:45 p.m., Saturday at 7 and 9:15 p.m., and Sunday at 7 p.m. Admission is $25.

7/19, Torch Relay - Special Olympics Law Enforcement Final Let Torch Run Ceremony from 9-10 a.m. at the Lewis Family & Technology Center.

7/18, Torch Run - Torch run event from Palm Canyon Theater to the Palm Springs Convention Center beginning at 6:30. Cheer on Special Olympics athlete and the Flame of Hope.


7/18, Water Sports – The 8th annual Big Bear Paddlefest on the south shore of Big Bear Lake at The Pines Lakefront. Registration is $25-70 online, $45-90 onsite. Registration begins at 6 a.m., races at 7 a.m., awards and beach party at 1 p.m.

7/18, Flower Show – 7th annual Big Bear Women’s Club Flower Show at the Performing Arts Center Friday 12-5 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Free admission.

7/18, Mining - Shark Week at Gold Rush Mining Adventures Saturday from 4:30-6 p.m. and Sunday 9-11:30 a.m. Snacks and treats, learn about prehistoric sharks. Free admission, mining extra.

7/18, Garden Tour - 13th annual Xeriscape Garden Tour beginning at Eminger’s Mountain Nursery between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.    Free self-guided tour through homes in Big Bear Valley.

7/18, Parade - Old Miner’s Fawnskin Doo Dah Parade beginning at 10 a.m. at the Moose Lodge. Breakfast Burritos before.

7/18, Festival - Old Miner’s Loggers and Miners Jubilee from 11 a.m.-5 .p.m. at the Big Bear Moose Lodge. Live entertainment, food and kids activities. Single and team events, free for spectators, participants’ $5-10 per contest.



7/18, Workshop - Creative Arts Workshop at Bob Glass Gymnasium beginning at 10 a.m. Early bird check in begins at 8:30, Free workshop for ages 8-18. Registration required.

7/18, Trains - Free rides at the Orange Empire Railway Museum from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. for Perris residents. Must show proof of residency, see website for details.


7/17-18, Adoptions - Freedom Mega Adoption Event at the Moreno Valley Animal Shelter from 10:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. $50 dogs, $15 cats.  

7/18, Expo - Vanguard Outdoor Art Expo at the common area at Stoneridge Towne Center from 4-9 p.m. Includes art, farmer’s market and more. Free admission.



7/18, Car & Bike Show - Charity Car and Bike Show at Top-Line Industrial Supply. Proceeds go to Carol's Kitchen. Show is free to the public.



7/9-25, Theater – Shakespeare in the Vines performances of  “Romeo and Juliet” at Baily Vineyard & Winery at 7:30 p.m. Thursday through Sunday. Tickets are $22, $17 for students seniors and military, royal table $30.

7/17, Movie - “Big Hero 6” at the community Recreation Center pool at 7 p.m. Free movie, activities begin at 6 p.m.

7/18, Comedy - Aces Comedy Club fundraiser to raise money for a service dog from 5-9 p.m. Tickets are $30.
