After that blast of winter, it’s great weather to get out and check out one of the fun Inland Empire weekend events we’ve found for you! There’s plenty of options to help you stick to your new year's resolutions by getting active, enjoying some local culture or spending more time with the family in nature.

1/9, Concert - Asante Children’s Choir from East Africa performs at Trinity Lutheran Church at 7p.m. Free admission.

1/10, Run - Citrus Heritage Run beginning at Arlington Heights Sports Park. Half-marathon begins a t 7:30a.m., 5K at 8:30a.m., kids fun run at9:30 a.m. Registration fees are $15-85, register online.

1/10, Theater - “The Last 5 Years” performed at The Box at 2 and 7:30p.m. Tickets are $20.

1/11. Trains - Public run day at Hunter Park by Riverside Live Steamers from 10 a.m.-3p.m. Free rides on a miniature train. Repeats second and fourth Sundays of the month.



1/10, Concert - The Redlands Symphony performs “65 Years of Beauty” at the University of Redlands ‘ Memorial Chapel. Tickets are $35-60 for the 8p.m. concert.

1/11, Nature -  Sunday Outdoor Fun Day with the the Redlands Conservancy from 9-10a.m. at Israel Beal Park. Learn about the local watershed and environment, free to the public.



1/10-11, Festival - World War OC Post Apocalyptic Party at Crossroads Riverview Park from 8a.m. on Saturday to 11:30p.m. Sunday. Wasteland Weekend themed, includes games, costume contests, vendors and more. Admission is $15 for one day, $30 two day with camping (pre-paid) and group admission $90 for four.

1/10, Comedy - Harland Williams at M15 Concert Bar and Grill beginning at 7p.m. Tickets are $20 for the all-ages show.



1/9-2/22, Theater - “The Buddy Holly Story” at the Candlelight Pavilion Dinner Theater. Thursday, Friday and Saturday evening dinner seating at 6p.m., Sunday at5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday matinees at 11a.m. Tickets are $58-73, see menu and options online.

1/11, Concert - Pianist David Rubenstein performs at the Bridges Hall of Music at Pomona College at 3p.m. Tickets are $25, senior and student $20, purchase at door. $5 discount purchased online, see site for details.

1/10, Walking - Saturday morning walking club at Rancho Santa Ana Botanic Garden beginning at 8a.m. Group walk takes about an hour, free participation with paid garden admission, see website for details.



1/9-11, Spa Show - Hot Tub Swim Spa Sales event at the Fairplex Expo Hall 6 Friday 12-8p.m., Saturday 10a.m.-8p.m., Sunday 10a.m.-6p.m. Free admission.

1/10-11, Reptile Show - Reptile Super Show at the Fairplex Saturday 10a.m.-6p.m. and Sunday 11a.m.-5p.m. Tickets are $14 for adults and $9 for 12 and under. Parking is $10 at Gate 17. Leave pets at home.

1/10, Concert - Assuming We Survive with Cromwell, Dose of Adolescence and The New Varsity at The Glass House.  Tickets are $15 at the door for the all-ages event.

1/11, Trains -  The Fairplex Garden Railroad from 11a.m.-4p.m. at the Fairplex.  Oldest and largest operating garden railroad in the US, open to the public every second Saturday of each month. Free admission, located near Gate 1 by the grandstand.



1/10-11, Air Show - Cable Air Faire at Cable Airport celebrating 70th anniversary beginning at 8a.m.  Performers, RC club, chances to fly above the city and more. Free parking, adults $10, kids 5-12 $5, under 5 free.



1/10-11, Racing - Speed Ventures racing and autocross at the Auto Club Speedway. Open to experienced and novice drivers, instruction opportunities. $10 gate fee, registration is $75-190, see website for information.

1/10, Racing - Exotics Racing track day at the Auto Club Speedway. Drive or ride-along in an exotic car. Packages start at $99, see website for registration details.

1/10, Concert - “Disney’s Choo-Choo Soul with Genevieve” at the Lewis Family Playhouse at 1 and 4p.m. Tickets are $12-15.  



1/9-11, Comedy - Bob Saget at the Ontario Improv Friday at 7:30 and 9:45p.m., Saturday at 7 and 9:15p.m., Sunday at 7p.m. Tickets are $25, two-item minimum.  

1/9-11, Expo - Academy of Model Aeronautics AMA Expo at the Ontario Convention Center Friday 11 a.m.-5 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Sunday from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. vendors, model making, and more. Passes are $15-36, youth pass $5, 12 and under free.

1/9, Soccer - Ontario Fury vs. Harrisburg Heat at Citizens Business Bank Arena beginning at 7p.m. Tickets start at $10, bring cash for parking.

1/10-11, Theater - “Disney Junior Live on Tour!” at Citizens Business Bank Arena at 1 and 4 p.m. both days. Tickets are $25-70, parking is $10 cash.

1/10, Comedy - “Squeaky Clean Comedy” series at the Ontario Improv continues with Melvin Austin at 2p.m. Tickets are $10 for the 16 and older show, two item minimum.



Now through 1/12, Film Festival - 26th annual Palm Springs International Film Festival continues at venues throughout Palm Springs. See website for details.

1/10-11, Art Festival - Town Square Art Affaire art festival in Town Square Park at Cathedral City City Hall from 10a.m.-4p.m. Free admission, art for sale.

1/10, Art Festival –  “Art Under the Umbrellas” art festival in Old Town La Quinta from 10a.m.-4p.m., Live entertainment, free parking and admission.

1/10, Concert - The Guess Who in concert beginning at 7p.m. in the parking area across from Spa Resort Casino. Free to the public.



1/10, Showshoeing – Winter Trails Event at Big Bear Discovery Center. Learn about showshoeing and other winter activities, snowman building contest and more. Free event.

1/10, Film Festival - Winter Wildlands Alliance Backcountry Film Festival at Big Bear Discovery Center from 7-9p.m. Early bird ticket $10, at the door is $15.



1/9, Concert - The Rat Pack at the Old Town Temecula Community Theater at 8p.m. General admission is $20-25, student $15.

1/9-10, Concert – The Fab Four in concert at Pechanga Resort & Casino at 8p.m. both days. Tickets are $25-45, limited quantities.

1/10, Dance - Arthur Murray dace studio presents professional and amateur dancers on stage beginning at 7p.m.  at the Old Town Temecula Community theater, Tickets are $8, students and military with ID is $5.

1/11, Concert – “Beatles vs. Stones: A Musical Shoot Out!” at 2 and 7p.m. at the Old Town Temecula Community Theater with Abbey Road and Jumping Jack Flash. Tickets are $30 general, $25 seniors, students and military with ID.
