9/18, Astronomy - “The Sun’s Family” presentation at the Riverside City College’s Dixon Planetarium at 7p.m. Admission is $5 adults, students $4, under 12 $2.50. Cash or check only, doors open at 6:30p.m.

9/18 and 9/20, Opera - The Riverside Lyric Opera performs Suor Angelica at The Box in Riverside Friday at 7p.m. and Sunday at 4p.m. Tickets are $25 general admission, seniors $20, children 12 and under $10.

9/18, Festival - Riverside Mariachi Festival at Fairmount Park from 6-9p.m. Includes salsa dancing contest, Ballet Folklorico Dance Competition, art contest and exhibition and more. $20 admission day of event.

9/18, Concert - Live and Local Fridays at Lake Alice Trading Co. beginning at 9p.m. Admission is $6.

9/18, Concert - Rush tribute band Caress of Steel performs at Romano’s Concert Lounge at 9p.m. Admission is $12 at the door.

9/19, Fundraiser - 6th annual Truckers Rally for kids benefitting A Foundation for Kids starts at Loft 84 and finishes at OsterKamp Trucking in Pomona. Registration is $35, see site for details.

9/19, Comedy - Paula Poundstone at the Riverside Municipal Auditorium at 8:30p.m. Tic – Make It Take It craft at Eastside Library from 10a.m.-5:45p.m. Free to the public.

9/19, Walk - Walk with a Doc program begins at the front entrance of the Mission Inn at 7a.m. Free to the public.

9/19, Awareness - Deaf Awareness Week kicks off with a community event from 10a.m.-5p.m. in downtown Riverside. Vendors, crafts, kid’s activities and more. Free admission to the public.


9/19, Family Event - Day for Kids 2015 at the Boys and Girls Club from 11a.m.-2p.m. Free eye screenings, games, music, crafts and food. Free admission to the public.

9/19, Fundraiser - 5th annual Benchwarmers BBQ at the Burrage Mansion from 11:30-3p.m. $40 per person.

9/19, Chili Cook-Off - Mentone Community Chili Cook-Off at Amethyst Bible Church from 4-8p.m. Family activities, vendors and more. Tastings are $5 per person, free admission. Star-gazing at 7:30p.m.



9/18, Astronomy - Dark Shadows: All About Eclipses show at San Bernardino Valley College’s planetarium at 7p.m. Admission is $3 general, $2 student and $1 children 10 and under.

9/19, Concert - Kids Rock Free presents An Evening of Guitar and Piano at The Young American College of the Performing Arts at 8p.m. Doors open at 6:30p.m. for a reception, tickets are $20 at the door, $10 presale.
